Zojoji

Zojoji was built in 15th century. It’s located at Minato ward in Tokyo. It’s near to Tokyo tower. You can see the contrast of modern Japanese architecture and traditional building. Thanks to that combination, you will be able to feel the atmosphere of “wabisabi”. The chief temple of Jodo-Buddhist sect. Sanmon(三門) is the biggest gate in east part of Japan. It opened from 9a.m. to around 17p.m. You can enter the memorial museum until 4:30p.m. Let’s visit and enjoy!

Mitsui memorial museum

This museum has Japanese traditional tea ceremony room. It’s national treasure! The museum is owned by The Mitsui’s which makes great wealthy in Japan.  This family collected many precious and traditional possessions. Some of them regards as important cultural properties. The outlook of the museum seems like Western style but it has lots of “wavisabi ” things. You can’t miss it! The museum was built in 2005 and located in Chuo ward in Tokyo. It opened from 10a.m to 5p.m. On Mondays the museum is closed. Let’s visit and know Japanese cultural aspect!

Jindaiji temple

Jindiji temple was built in 8th century. It has some important properties.

The temple is surrounded by rich green and natural environment.

Around here is famous Japanese Soba. There are more than 20 Soba shops. It is because The area near the temple has clear and nice water! The place is good for walking. Shops look like traditional style. So you can enjoy the atmosphere of Edo period and “wabisabi”. Let visit!

Koishikawa Korakuen

Koishikawa kourakuen is a park in Bunkyo ward in Tokyo. The park was made in 1629. That time was Edo period. Founder is a son of the first Edo shogun(president). This place were designated both a Special Historic Site and a Special Place of Scenic Beauty. Such park are only 2 in Japan! So it’s rare. You can see pound, little mountain, trees, Japanese style bridge, rice field, and more! Furthermore, you can enjoy to meet many creatures live in natural environment. You will be able to feel “wabisabi” by 5senses!

It opened from 9a.m. to 5p.m. You can enter until 4:30 p.m. During New Year’s season is closed.

The Syunka-en BONSAI museum is a place where have a lot of Japanese style BONSAI. BONSAI are potted plants. Since about 17th century people enjoy these plants as their hobbies because it’s easy to keep in each house. Also they can feel like deal with gardening. Of course, BONSAI itself is a work of art! The museum was built in 2002. It’s located in Edogawa ward in Tokyo. It opened from 10a.m. to 5p.m. On Mondays the museum is closed. You can feel “wabisabi” at this place. Let’s visit and enjoy!

Tokyo tower

This building is called the Tokyo Tower.
Primarily, it’s for transmitting electric waves such as the TV.
It has also an observation deck commands the panoramic view of Tokyo.
It had been the highest building in Japan until April.
It’s very beautiful with its illumination in the evening.

Torii is a gateway of a shrine and passing the gateway means that you are entering.

      

Japanese summer festival

“Omatsuri” means a ritual for worshipping gods or Buddha, or an event held in gratitude towards nature.
At the festivals, you can wear Japanese traditional clothes what is called Yukata.
